A newly established LIRA Lab (Living Innovations for Regional Advancement) under the Institute of Economics and Rural Development of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences has been officially accepted as an adherent member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL).

ENoLL is an international network that brings together more than 170 living labs worldwide. Its mission is to promote human-centred innovation, cross-sectoral collaboration, real-life experimentation, and the development of innovation policy.

LIRA Lab’s membership was formally approved during the ENoLL General Assembly held on 20 June 2025, where the lab was presented as one of the new members. This marks a significant milestone not only for the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences but also for the entire Baltic region – LIRA Lab has become one of the first living labs in the Baltics to join this global network.

The lab is led by Dr. Rita Lankauskienė, and its core areas of activity include:
– Development of regional ecosystems,
– Artificial intelligence-based modelling,
– Stakeholder scenario development,
– Promotion of innovation commercialization.

The vision of LIRA Lab is to become a leading space for diagnostics and co-creation, helping to transfer the value of innovation ecosystem methodologies and tools to a wide range of stakeholders, from the academic community to policymakers and business sectors.

It is expected that this membership will strengthen international cooperation, open new opportunities for knowledge exchange, and further promote people-centred innovation in support of regional development.
