The Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences conducts doctoral studies in two fields: economics and sociology. These third cycle studies are carried out in cooperation with leading Lithuanian universities in the respective field of science. Doctoral studies in the field of Economics (S 004) are carried out together with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, doctoral studies in the field of Sociology (S 005) are carried out together with Kaunas University of Technology and Vytautas Magnus University. Doctoral studies in the specified field of science, the procedure for doctoral students’ research, dissertation preparation, defense and awarding a doctoral degree are regulated by the respective regulations for joint doctoral studies, which are available publicly. Every year, the LSMC doctoral student community consists of over 20 doctoral students who are actively involved in LSMC activities – participating in methodological seminars, preparing project applications and carrying out research projects, disseminating research results and organizing research events.
